Hihi, girlypops! It’s time for me to introduce my very first book baby, Lyric’s Quest! Lyric’s Quest is about a boring, frumpy man named Marc who has a messy apartment. But, he has a gay bestie named Chris (and, let’s be real girlies, who doesn’t want a gay bestie?). Marc is also a broke-y… has he tried not being poor? Anyhoo, the gay bestie in question needs a date to a wedding, like, desperately, because he’s not quite ready to come out to his very traditional family. Sweet, boring, hoodie-wearing Marc, agrees to do him a solid and go as a girl. Now, he claims it’s about the money, but let’s be real, girlies… Chris is paying for a makeover, a dress, the works! What could possibly go wrong?
Literally everything, babe. Because when Marc gets back to his drab apartment, the dress-up isn’t… dress-up anymore. And nobody can explain it. Not the doctors, not the internet, not even his… I mean, her… terrifyingly competent manicurist who winds up ghosting her! Who here hasn’t been ghosted? So #relatable. But yeah, Marc’s newfound womanhood is official-ish when she digs through her purse and finds that all her IDs now say Lyric Chastain. Like, all of them. Even the Costco card! And that’s kind of the whole point.
And, get this girlypops, she finds two guys in her first month of being a woman! Two hunky guys named Ian and Winthorpe! Sooooo lucky! But she’s so ungrateful! Will Lyric embrace her new life or will she fight for the right to be frumpy? I’m just as excited as you to find out!
